How to read the report
- Buildings cited for electrical safety counts buildings with any of K911, K912, K914, K919, K920 or K921 since October 2023. Nationally, 43.9% of nursing homes were cited at least once.
- K921 is the tag for testing and maintaining patient care electrical equipment (PCREE). 9.3% of nursing homes were cited for it, and 76% of those citations were rated widespread. See what a K921 citation means.
- Survey window is our estimate: 9 to 15 months after the last standard survey on record. Federal law requires standard surveys within 15 months, with a statewide average of 12.
What to do with it
Start with the buildings at the top of the list: an open window plus a K921 or K920 history is where a repeat citation is most likely. Then put every building on the same testing standard so results stop depending on who runs maintenance at each site. Our multi-facility PCREE program schedules buildings in exactly this order. If you buy through procurement, start with the procurement packet.
